Hydro Energy as the Important Factor of the “Green Economy”

Many experts, international organizations and the scientific community believe that renewable energy sources
are the key to solving global problems and a catalyst for the transition to sustainable human development. The purpose
of the work is to analyze the process of formation and popularization of hydroelectric power stations as “green” energy,
to assess its current status, prospects and importance for national economies and the world economy. Quantitative data
describing the level of development of “green” energy at the national level are presented, cause-and-effect relationships
are studied, conclusions are drawn about the current state and prospects of renewable energy.
